Camp Fire Wilani is Innovating New Ways to Serve Families in a Changing World.
Youth will learn about nature and play nature games with a dedicated Outdoor School field instructor in this two-hour Private Nature Education and Play session. Children of families that have been isolating together are invited to learn from one of Camp Fire Wilani’s exceptional Outdoor School Field Instructors in this special private experience. Each instructor is comprehensively trained in risk management and child safety, has a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, and is a kind and caring adult mentor. Parents are welcome to observe sessions, or take a break for the duration of the session. Sessions take place at local parks that are chosen by parents during registration, or at the Camp Wilani site in Veneta, and other sites based on convenience for families.
Let us take the wheel for awhile and get kids moving and curious about the natural world.
Instructors will wear masks, and sanitizer will be readily available and used, and each isolation group gets supplies that are sanitized after use. No public use items such as tables, benches, restrooms, or other equipment will be utilized without thorough decontamination. Participants are welcome to use masks as well – regardless, social distancing will be practiced diligently.
This program is appropriate for 1st – 6th grade youth. Multiple kids from the same social isolation household are welcome, especially if they are within a year or two of each other. Between 2-5 youth are allowed, but not with large disparities in age. A separate session would be necessary for more than two years apart in age to help facilitate learning and a fun environment for participants.
Two Hour Private Session: $35
Offered Monday – Friday in two-hour blocks that take place between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM
We’ll be safe for you, please be safe for us. This program is designed for youth who have been self isolating in the same household and have not engaged in group gatherings outside of their household. Participants must be 100% asymptomatic for COVID-19 and have NOT exhibited the following symptoms: fever, cough, fatigue, loss of taste or smell, discolorations of the toes or fingers, sore throat that differ from regular seasonal allergies, and no one in the household has been hospitalized for symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19. We hold ourselves to the same standard.
Young people want to shape the world.
Camp Fire provides the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are.
