Giving feels great, and this November we are launching our Operation Shoebox project on Veteran’s Day 2021. We believe there is no better way to honor the service of veterans than to spend the holiday doing something wonderful for community members who need it most.
Every year our amazing Camp Fire Club Members and Community Volunteers wrap hundreds of shoeboxes and stuff them full of comforts for our community members who are experiencing homelessness. This is a an excellent opportunity for families, businesses, retired folks, service organizations, or individuals to make a real difference through community service.
This year we are asking individual families and community members to wrap and stuff gifts of new warm socks, gloves, toiletries, hand warmers, hats, snacks, small games and toys for children, and much more and Camp Fire Wilani will distribute them to our community partners: Looking Glass, Shelter Care, and the women and children division of the Eugene Mission. No used, opened, or second hand items, please!
*Please wrap lid and box separately so they can be inspected by agency staff.*
*Please do not include: perishable, used, opened, dangerous, or flammable items!!!*
