Camp Fire Wilani is partnering with Friends of the Children to provide underserved kids a transformative summer camp experience.
Friends of the Children helps children facing significant challenges dismantle cycles of intergenerational poverty and disadvantage by providing them a long-term professional mentor. Friends supports each child’s growth and development and assists families in maintaining stability and achievement of their dreams. 12 + years, no matter what.
The mission of Camp Fire Wilani perfectly aligns with Friends of the Children. Camp Fire Wilani believes in the power of a caring adult mento to positively impact a child’s life. They recruit, hire, and train caring adult mentors to guide youth through camp experiences wherein they can connect to the natural world, build confidence, and make new friends.
Your gift will help send Friends of the Children youth to Camp Wilani this summer!
What it costs to send a child to camp:
True Cost: $370
Bus Transportation: $50
You can sponsor a child at any level and they will still get to go to camp! The true cost helps us to cover the many expenses associated with putting on a high quality camp program. You can also sponsor bus transportation!

Camp Fire Wilani is a progressive youth development organization that serves youth and families with profoundly inclusive Summer Camp, Outdoor School, Adventure, and Service Learning Programs. We have served our 10-county region since 1958: from Salem to the California border and the Oregon Coast to the Cascade Mountains.

Camp Fire Wilani hires and trains culturally competent caring adult mentors who cultivate curiosity, foster compassion, encourage connection, and build self-confidence in young people through profoundly inclusive summer camp, outdoor school, adventure, service learning and leadership programs that examine these experiences through culturally responsive lenses.

Our purpose is to build great qualities in youth. We strive to make sure every child feels loved, valued, and empowered to effect change in their world. Our work is focused on making outdoor experiences accessible and appealing to BIPoC, Latinx, and LGBTQIA+ youth.
It is also our purpose to build great qualities into our staff with internationally recognized trainings and presenters, a supportive environment, competitive pay, and opportunities to grow with the organization.
We serve youth at our historic location in Veneta, Oregon – tucked into the Coast Range foothills. Our administrative office is in Springfield, Oregon.
